READING THERAPY
Reading is without question, the most critical academic skill for your child. Efficient reading is an invaluable life skill. Helping children achieve reading and writing success is part of our mission at TLC.
We follow the science of reading research and are dedicated providers of Orton Gillingham reading, and spelling instruction. Your child’s first session will be a thorough assessment by TLC’s co-director, Jackie Klein. In addition to being a speech/ language pathologist, Jackie has a second Master’s degree in special education. For the last 30 years she has specialized in reading and reading disorders, and is adept at identifying and treating reading struggles, whether mild or severe. All of our reading consultants are highly trained and experienced, providing the best practice in reading instruction-including the foundational skills of individualized phonemic awareness work , as well as direct and explicit Orton Gillingham instruction. We are eager to partner with you to support your child’s progress and are happy to help you advocate for the appropriate academic services your child may need at school.
